Morwenna Schenck


Morwenna is a designer and project manager. She is an alumna of the Victorian College of the Arts, where she completed a Bachelor of Production Design. Her skill base encompasses illustration, drafting, technical documentation, making, production management and stage management.

She was previously employed for five years with Bluebottle Pty Ltd working across various projects in both creative and production roles for theatre, events, exhibitions and commercial architecture.

Since 2018, Morwenna has delivered design projects independently. She frequently collaborates with Punctum Inc as designer and project manager and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, delivering set designs for their special events program.

In 2018 she completed the design and construction of a temporary structure for Punctum Inc’s project Public Cooling House. The project was presented in Bendigo at Artlands – Regional Arts Australia, Royal Botanical Gardens Melbourne and Cranbourne, WOMADelaide and Bunjil Place.

Morwenna continued her collaboration with Punctum Inc in 2019 as designer for the Bendigo-based Pavilion Project. She completed the design and construction of a second temporary structure titled Kultur-All Makaan. The structure was designed and built in collaboration with local artists from the Hazara, South Sudanese and Karen communities.

Morwenna is also a collaborating member of The Pump, an interdisciplinary exchange platform. It is an international community of artists, scientists, academics and community leaders, who blend artistic and scientific practice to create projects that promote agency in people’s relationships with water. Recent projects include a Bundanon Farm Residency in 2018 and in 2019 The Pump contributed as a Plenary Roundtable Panel at the Tropical Performances Conference in association with De La Salle University, Philippines. The Pump will present a participatory installation as part of the inaugural congress of Sustainability Research and Innovation (SRI2021).
