Outside In is a creative school residency with Year 4, 5 and 6 at Annunciation Catholic Primary School in Brooklyn, Melbourne’s Inner West.
Students will explore site specific land art with Polyglot artists using the nearby wilderness of Newport Lakes as their canvas to design, create and build an installation about their physical, spiritual and cultural relationship to nature. Through this hybrid form of art making Polyglot hopes to challenge the ‘nature-deficit’ disorder which many children experience in modern life.
Referencing artists Andy Goldsworthy and Anna Marie Holm, and using dance, visual art, animation and film, the children will be bringing the Outside In.
Outside In is supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria and by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body.
