Acknowledgment of country

Polyglot acknowledges that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and create, and we pay our respects to Elders past and present. For more than 65,000 years, children and families have created and played here, and we are grateful to make our art on this country too.

CHILD’S STORY (CERITA ANAK)

This unique immersive theatre without words that is inspired by an old tale from Lasem, is designed for children aged 2 – 8 and their adults as ship passengers, to be rocked and rolled across a strange ocean, dive to the bottom of the sea, hear stories on the wind and in the currents of the water and face great danger before coming to safe harbour.

Watching audiences are invited to witness participating passengers in their interactive and sensory adventure that shimmers with all the life of the ocean. Cerita Anak (Child’s Story) is a performance involving an unforgettable visual and physical experience.

Presentation of CERTIA ANAK (Child’s Story) in Yogyakarta is made possible in collaboration between Papermoon Puppet Theatre, Polyglot Theatre, Padepokan Seni Bagong Kussudiardja and ARTJOG11. This tour is supported by the Department of Culture Yogyakarta, Australia-Indonesian Institute, Australia Council for the Arts, Creative Victoria, and the City of Melbourne.
