Acknowledgment of country

Polyglot acknowledges that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and create, and we pay our respects to Elders past and present. For more than 65,000 years, children and families have created and played here, and we are grateful to make our art on this country too.

How High The Sky

I had never imagined that a performance for babies under one could be so revealing of human nature! The world created by the artists – the morphing shape of the floor, the sounds, the images that were not quite abstract and not quite realistic – was engrossing, but the moment when all the parents and carers left the space leaving 12 babies by themselves in a magical sensory world (that included other babies, of course!) was a revelation! Suddenly they were all revealed as unique human beings, already with their personalities separate from their parents, already with clear attitudes and approaches to their lives. It was breath-taking.
